Two weeks ago I headed back to Berlin to see my mate Monika for 5 days, it was a very last minute trip as flights we’re incredibly cheap! The weather was incredibly hot and so humid, which was better than the rain they’d been having previously but meant we drank about 138 cold drinks each day.
It was a well needed break and I had so much fun, here’s what I got up to…
We spent a lot of time sat by the river bank to catch some sun and try to get a breeze. I wore my Balzac dress that’s cotton so perfect for the weather.
Teamed my dress with my big Chimi sunnies and Levi Jacket
Around the corner from Monika’s flat is an amazing pizza place called Zola, hands down the best veggie pizza i’ve had! Is there anything better than a stone baked pizza?
That evening we went on a night out with Monika’s mates which was really fun and got experience Berlin night life! We went to Prince Charles which is now closed, we went on closing night, it’s inside an old swimming pool which was cool!
Delicious brunch at Hallesches Haus, definitely recommend, I’ve been twice now and both times were amazing! I had the French toast.
Snapped some outfit photos, wearing Monika’s All Saints dress (so similar to my Miss Selfridge one) and Friday by JW Pei bag.
On Sunday we headed to the Nowkoelln Flowmarkt along the river in Kreuzberg which was full of so many gems. I picked up a bumbag and spent ages looking at film cameras.
In the afternoon we made a bit of a trek to a lake called Krumme Lanke outside of Berlin to catch some sun. it was so so busy, everyone was crammed in like sardines but we did find a nice little sun shot higher up on the bank and spent some time sunning and reading.
I did say it was the best pizza, so we went back to Zola and I tried their gorgonzola, pear and walnut pizza. SO GOOD! Beers were also €3 which is always a bonus.
My last day was a half day due to a late afternoon flight so we took it chill and headed Tischendorf for some food, super nice guys in there and such yummy food!
If you’re wanting a relatively cheap city break I’d totally recommend Berlin, the flight time is an hour and a half and everything is so easy to get to once you’re here. So much good food and so many beers!
